Peter Fearnside Founder
Peter Fearnside was the Founder and CEO of Marshall Day Acoustics Australia. He was responsible for the development of the company’s business in Australia, S.E. Asia and China and led the company for over 30 years. In July 2017, not only did the company celebrate its 30th anniversary but Peter also stepped aside from his role as CEO, announcing the appointment of co-CEOs, Amanda Robinson and Christophe Delaire. Peter is committed to working with Marshall Day, particularly in China, as well as in a training and mentoring capacity.
Peter has extensive experience in the room acoustic design and theatre planning of performing arts facilities. For over 20 years, Peter led the Marshall Day Acoustics team in the Peoples Republic of China and Hong Kong, and during that period oversaw the acoustics design of over 40 concert halls, opera theatres and other small theatres and music performance spaces in Beijing, Nanjing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
A recognised expert in environmental noise impact assessment, Peter regularly provided expert evidence in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) and at Panels Victoria for over 20 years.
