Juan Gaviria

Juan is an acoustic consultant in the Christchurch office. He joined Marshall Day Acoustics in 2022, with more than six years of experience working on projects related to noise assessment and building acoustics; he developed acoustic panels such as absorbers and diffusers for recording studios and theatres throughout his own consultancy company in Colombia. In 2019, in his role as a consultant for AGRA Architects, he was responsible for the acoustic design of the School of Music at Universidad de Los Andes, applying concepts such as variable acoustics and sustainable design, bringing them a design award from this university.

Currently, he has a particular interest in environmental and building acoustic projects involving prediction and working primarily on noise assessment on-site through Loggers, SLMs, and vibration monitors. Juan has recently completed assessments on projects for timber & engineering industries and mines around New Zealand.
