Christopher Day Founder
Christopher Day is a founding partner of Marshall Day Acoustics and is based in the Auckland Office. Originally from Australia, he settled in New Zealand in 1981 after a one year ‘break’ sailing the south pacific.
Chris has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Monash University, Melbourne. His engineering background formed a complimentary relationship with Harold Marshall’s architectural skills, which has helped shape the direction of the company. 35 years in acoustics has seen Chris build up a wide range of experience in both building acoustics and environmental noise. His specialist interests have become acoustics for the performing arts, airport noise, and noise from windfarms.
Chris has been involved with a number of major international performing arts centres including the Orange County Performing Arts Centre, renovations of both the Academy of Music Philadelphia and the Auckland Town Hall and the new concert hall for Paris, the Philharmonie de Paris. Other specialist projects include Roundhead Studios for Neil Finn and the New Zealand School of Music for the Victoria University of Wellington.
