Bertie van den Braak
Bertie joined the Wellington office of Marshall Day Acoustics in August, 2014. Her role involves working as part of the team to deliver solutions which are an integral combination of architecture, acoustics, building systems and structural design. She has experience in architectural acoustics, providing advice on room acoustics, sound insulation and mechanical services noise. A particular interest and area of expertise is acoustics for performance spaces; in both new buildings and refurbishments of existing buildings.
Additionally, Bertie has experience across a variety of other sectors, including libraries, offices, museums, hotels, and dwellings near airports and main roads. She graduated in 2004 with a Master of Science degree in Building Physics at the University of Technology in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. After finishing her Master thesis on stage acoustics, she worked as an acoustic consultant at Royal HaskoningDHV in Eindhoven for 10 years where she gained experience in room acoustics and building acoustics on major national and international projects. She has written and presented several papers about stage acoustics at international conferences.
