Following the 2011 Canterbury earthquakes and subsequent loss of appropriate sporting venues, Christchurch City Council identified the former Rugby League Park in Addington as a suitable replacement stadium.
Our Brief
Marshall Day Acoustics was engaged to assist with the rezoning of the ground to allow both high level rugby matches and public entertainment. Our knowledge of the acoustic screening of the temporary stands that we had previously tested at Eden Park, in conjunction with our extensive database of noise levels from sporting events and amplified music concerts, meant that we could meet the very tight time frames for completion on this project.
In line with the ongoing Council requirements, we are involved in regular event noise monitoring around the stadium and have assisted in the preparation of a Noise Management Plan to be implemented by staff.
