Dan Griffin
Daniel Griffin is a Consultant with the Wellington office specialising in architectural acoustics and wind farm noise assessment. He graduated from the University of Auckland in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, with First Class Honours, in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree.
Since graduation, Daniel has worked as an acoustical consultant in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. He is a member of the Institute of Acoustics and has developed expertise in sound insulation and programming as a contributor to Marshall Day Acoustics’ Insul software tool. His architectural work covers a diverse range of projects including convention centres, sports arenas, schools and design installations.
Over the past eight years Daniel has also worked intensively with wind farm developments, spanning all stages of wind farm projects including detailed data analysis, compliance review and tonality assessment. Daniel is the author of several papers presented at the International Wind Turbine Noise Conferences. He was the lead author of the first draft of the Wind Farm Noise Appendix of the EPHC Australian National Wind Development Guidelines and its associated briefing paper. More recently, he has also been involved in review work for the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, contributing to the report Examination of the significance of noise in relation to onshore wind farms.
